Solving Problems Maths

For maths we have been solving problems. We have to use facts we know to help us. Here is one of my problems I have solved.

If I could do anything for my Mum I would....Writing

For Mother's Day I did this for writing: If I could do anything for my Mum I would... here is my writing.

If I could do anything for my mum I would make her breakfast in bed or do the dishes for her and brush her hair. Doing stuff for your mum is hard but not for me. If I could do anything for my mum I would clean the car for her and make a coffee for her. At dinner I would take her plate to the bench for her. I would turn the TV on for her. I would pull the weeds out of the garden for her.

Pancake Robot

Garden to Table
Today for Garden to Table I made a pancake Robot. I prepared the mixture, used food colouring to dye the mixture. I then used a piping bag to draw the robot with the pancake mixture. It was really hard to flip, Bex had to use lots of spatulas. When it was ready I decorated it with icing, chocolate buttons and marshmallows. Then I ate it, yummm!

Science-Crystals

Yesterday with Miss Fletcher we made crystals using hot water and sugar/salt. We had to dissolve the sugar/salt in the water until it was saturated - would not dissolve anymore. We added food colouring then put our shaped pipe cleaner or string into the solution. We have to be patient until crystals form.

To make crystals you need sugar, hot water, a piece of pipe
cleaner or string and a drop of food colouring. Your crystals
can be green, pink, purple, and blue. First tip the hot water
into a mixing cup and put sugar in until the hot water can not
hold any more sugar. When you have done that, tip the hot
water with the sugar in it into the jar and put a drop of
colouring into the hot water then mix it in. Put the piece of
pipe cleaner in tied onto a stick resting over the opening of the
jar.
